Green Lake, Wisconsin 7/12/2020

People say Green Lake has been the best-kept secret in the Midwest. Green Lake is the oldest resort community west of Niagara Falls located on Wisconsin’s deepest lake. Resorts here have attracted vacationers since the mid 1800’s.

Green Lake is over 7 miles long, 2-1/2 miles wide, covering 7,300 acres of excellent sailing, boating, fishing, swimming, and other water sports. The area also a destination that features many superb golf courses making it a golfer’s Mecca from early spring to late fall.

Although summer is the most active time of year, winter also provides many enjoyable activities. Ice fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and events such as “Christmas in Green Lake” in December and “Winterfest” in February are some of the activities enjoyed here.

“The Native Americans called it Monapacataca, the French called it Grand Lac Verde, we call it Green Lake, and you’ll want to call it home.”
